Who is Hiccup?

Who is Hiccup? Well Hiccup is my pet African White-Bellied Hedgehog who I received from my friend Joanna Lucero. He is about a year old and is around 5 inches long. Now Hiccup was originally Joanna’s and he has been with her since he was roughly 6-8 weeks old. Unfortunately though for Joanna who has moved to Georgia were hedgehogs are illegal she had to find a new home for the lovable quilled boy which is now why Hiccup is in my care.
Hiccup arrived to Troy on Friday July 18th and since he has been here he has taught me a few things.
1. No sudden movements when you wake a hedgehog up
2. Quills can hurt at first when you aren’t used to them
3. Their tiny feet and quills tickle (when the quills are down)
4. They love playing with toilet roll tubes. I have no idea why but they think it is the best toy ever
The first few days I believe Hiccup was in withdrawal from Joanna he was very antisocial. After a few days though, some bribery and getting used to his quills I am now able to hold him and play with him without him always curling up and hiding. He is also starting to open up more to other people letting my roommates and a few friends hold him as well.
